I arrived for my appointment five minutes early, only to be told by the receptionist that they tried to call with their automated system the day before and that, according to their records, I had cancelled the appointment using that system. This surprised me, because I had no such phone call from any automated system and certainly did not cancel my appointment. I even checked my call log, but had no call record from them. To make the appointment originally, I had called the office several times before I was able to speak with an actual person, who confirmed my appointment time over the phone. When I communicated this, the receptionist told me the doctor could see me a half hour after my appointment was supposed to be. She did not apologize for the inconvenience, even though this meant I would now be late for my job.
Ok...I see all these horrible reviews, and I get it, the front staff are not very nice, I've had the same experience. In contrast, I've started here twice and have never had an issue getting an appt. I got in to see them in a few days usually. But- I think it's bc when I needed to see someone, I went through our company's EAP (Employee Assistance Program), and THEY get you in to see someone and they do it FAST. If your company has one (many do now) please use that first. You usually use them when you are in crisis-mode or when you feel you're REALLY in need of help...and they usually approve so many visits for free (we get 6) and then your insurance takes over. PsychiatrySouth now has a Psych Nurse Practioner, Cassidy James, and she's AMAZING, and you now don't have to rely on the doctor to be there when you need your meds reviewed or refilled. She's there several times per week. I LOVE her. I hope everyone has a better experience next time!
I concur. I tried to make an appointment today for a family member at their request, and because I wasn’t on their “contact list” I was not allowed to make the appointment. The office staff hung up in my face. I called back because I do not appreciate being treated in such a manner. The office manager, who is incredibly rude and unprofessional, then got on the phone and said I had “yelled and used profanity” with her office staff, which was a absolute, outrageous lie. The office staff and manager are absolutely horrible; they lie and insult patients and family members, and I will not forget. Hoping the doctors are better...
I have been a patient of doctor Hubbard for more than 3 years. And I have not seen him since before the summer, due to the fact that I can not get anyone on the phone for an appointment. I have called several times and left voicemails. I have called both offices the one in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. I have filled out the email form online to try and get a response or call back. This office is ridiculous and if the staff can not do their job and answer a phone then they should be fired and replaced by a competent person that can answer a phone, return a message, or schedule an appointment.
While I have to say most of the therapists I've seen are awesome, the staff is horrible. I've had one good experience with them on the phone, all others were bad. They never answer their phone...very rarely call back, have an outrageous fee for missed appointments even when they don't give you a confirmation/reminder call. On top of this, every time I go I see a different therapist because the one before that left and went somewhere else. Well, I am going somewhere else too.
