Cookout is great for a cheap, tasty and quick meal. A popular hangout for students at the University of Alabama, Cookout features a large variety of options. The burgers are consistent and quite good as well as the milkshakes. Definetly a good value for the price. The side of onion rings is a little small though (only about 4 onion rings). It's also always entertaining to mingle with the ducks that frequent the patio space. For the most part they are very friendly. The staff is always helpful and efficient and the service is generally very quick.
Cook Out is perfect for college life. It's open late, the food is good, cheap, and plentiful. The only thing is that it is unusually loud, even when it's not crowded. I'm not sure what causes all the background noise.
This is a great quick fast food burger place to visit when you don't want to spend a whole lot of money. This restaurant is a step above the other fast food joints like McDonald's, burger king, etc. I would classify Cook Out as "classy fast food". Overall, the food is always good and portion sizes are large and the prices are very cheap. The only reason why I took off a star is because normally the restaurant is so crowded with college students that the staff will often get overwhelmed and forget to call out orders. I've had two seperate incidents where they forgot to call my order number. So after waiting about 15 minutes I had to go up there and ask if my food was done yet only to find out that the food had been left sitting in the kitchen area. Even though I had those bad experiences I would however still recommend this place.
