Spacious and usually very quiet. Great place for working over coffee. Quality of coffee is good too unlike most places in Tuscaloosa.
I can't believe I just discovered this place. In a town full of big-chain mediocrity and local places serving lackluster brews, this place is such a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere, the staff, the seating, and most importantly, the coffee, is nothing short of stellar. There's nothing else like Monarch in Tuscaloosa or anywhere between here and Birmingham.

I love this place. Probably one of the best atmospheres that I've come across with coffee shops....they were super busy but still managed to maintain a space where I could hold a conversation and do some focused studying.
A gem of a coffee shop in Tuscaloosa. You can tell a lot of time/effort/detail went into the creation of Monarch. Coffee is good and I've heard the baked goods are awesome-- I've yet to try.
The avocado toast and lemon blueberry scones are to die for!!! Paul and Audrey (owners) know their coffee - I haven't had a drink to disappoint. Would definitely recommend the Cuban or the dirty chai latte if you're looking for something crafty.
There is plenty of space to work, read, and/or meet with a friend. If you're in loosa, it's the coffee shop to be at!
