Good local beer on tap. Waiter looked at my hat, recognized it was for a college not currently being shown on their TVs, and asked if I wanted to watch that game w/n minutes of being seated. A minute later he was back with the remote and put it up. That is a sports bar first for me. Wife enjoyed the live music and the mixed drinks. Did not eat any food, so I can’t weigh in, but the excellent service brought me back on consecutive nights even though I was only in town for a few days.
The first time was a slow weekday afternoon and our server was very friendly, attentive and the food came out within 10-15 minutes. The pub burger is absolutely amazing and to die for, honestly. It's great. The Bloody Mary I ordered was great but a little too spicy.
I'll go again but only on a weekday afternoon to avoid the bad service and long wait time.
We are visiting from Florida. My son, who lives here, wanted to bring us to The Brass Tap since he knows we are micro-brewery fans. Well, needless to say, this was our first and last trip to the one in Tuscaloosa. The place was not packed, had maybe 7 tables sat. 3 servers, 1 bartender. Service sucked, took way to long to get anything. After an hour of waiting for food, and yes, we should have left sooner, we were told our food was being plated. Another 25 minites later the first plate of 4 came out, 5 minutes later the next plate, 10 minutes later the 3rd, after waiting now an hour and a half, the last plate arrived and was cold. We will never be back. Supposedly, a cook called out and no manager was working. A definite problem is here. They need to get their act together.
Nice bar with a great atmosphere. The blackened dry rub chicken is sooooo good. I enjoy myself every time I go. The bartenders are great and fast. The only issue i had was the last time i went it was practically empty but it took FOREVER for my food to come out. Other than that it was straight. I will still go back.
The second time I went was a Friday evening, around 5. When I got there, there were maybe four other tables. Originally, our server was nice and attentive. My Bloody Mary was perfect and my girlfriend's margarita was the best I've ever tasted. But then, we had to wait for 40-45 minutes for our food. Our server barely paid any attention to us after that and I had to flag her down. Once was after another server brought our food to us when I saw ours off to the side, texting and the other time was when I held my credit card up to finally pay for the check. I was expecting some discount for the long wait time but there wasn't any.
I hadn't ever known or noticed the place, but went by and thought I'd go in for a pint. There was a great local selection and the service was good. Luckily I made it during happy hour; the tacos were delicious! I will go again and would recommend the joint.
I've been here twice and had different experiences.
