Safe Haven has truly been the most welcoming church I have ever been a part of! It has become my 2nd family!
I started hearing "SafeHaven" after the tornado hit Tuscaloosa. I loved it immediately. I can wear my flips flops and feel totally at ease. It's relaxed and intimate, plus the seats are awesome. The message is delivered with passion and detail. It hits me every single time. The people are so willing to invite you in with high fives and laughter. My husband is not quite as out-going as I am so when he says it's comfortable for him, that's huge! Our kids love the children's service. I had been in a church before where everyone was fun-loving and it felt like a bunch of friends hanging out talking about life and Christ. I hadn't been able to find that again until SafeHaven. We are still new and getting to know people, but I can tell you that the staff is amazing. Every Sunday, I walk out of there feeling refreshed from the message and music. We also need refueling through the week so we're about to jump into small groups. If you are looking for friendship, fellowship and a church on fire for God - come on. Before you worry about what people will think about your clothes, forget about it :) SafeHaven is exactly what the name says. (Btw, I agree with Adam. This church is NOT about cliques, Joan Rivers style fashion bashing, who you know or where you sit. The Bible used to be something I would read and not absorb. At SafeHaven it has come to life for us instead of something to tackle or fumble through.) Thank you GW for the invitation to SHC and text/FB reminders.
This is the best place in the world in my opinion. This is not like my second home it is my second home. The people at this church are my family. If you are looking for a good church I believe this is for you. Come as you are, at SHC you do not have to worry about dressing nice you dress how you are.
Safe Haven Church has changed my jaded, apathetic view of churches in the south. Scripture is labored over. Jesus is increased.
I love Safe Haven Church. I have been a part of Safe Haven for 3 years, and it truly is the healthiest church I've been a part of. We long to see Jesus glorified in our city, state, and the rest of the world.
